"Having long struggled with my weight, I love the positive reinforcement of all these success stories"
Hearty congratulations are due to all the celebrities you showcased who lost weight during 2010. But how nice that People also continues to highlight so many of those regular folks out there who reduced their size without the benefit of expensive Hollywood trainers and hired chefs.
While I wholeheartedly applaud all those in your articles who lost the excess weight, I take strong exception to the headline "No Surgery." Weight-loss surgery is not a trick or an easy answer. Simply put, it is a solution to a problem when there is no other option.
New York, N.Y.
Drew Carey's rigorous dieting and exercise methods resoundingly prove the point that if you want something badly enough, you can always achieve your goal. Way to go, Drew!
Thanks so much for the beautiful article on Father Cutié. I was raised a Catholic, but I can still admire Cutié for having the courage to follow his heart and experience the wonderful gift of love from a spouse and a child.
I don't understand why Brad Womack gets put down for not selecting a girl on his first appearance on The Bachelor. Did all those narrow-minded viewers want him to pick someone he didn't really care for and lead her on, only to break her heart later? Brad, the very best of luck to you this time around, and always stay true to yourself.

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS
Seeing the smiles on the faces of Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka as they hold their infant twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott reveals the true love parents can have for their children. Blessings on them all!
Obviously no one, especially a famous rocker, is going to find a loving mate in a matter of a few weeks of reality-show dating. Bret's fiancée Kristi Gibson is a saint for standing by him so loyally (as well as being the mother of his two children!). Don't blow it this time, Bret—follow through on your engagement.
UPDATE | PHOEBE PRINCE
On Jan. 14, hundreds of South Hadley, Mass., residents attended a candlelight vigil to remember 15-year-old Phoebe Prince on the one-year anniversary of her suicide following bullying by high school classmates. Sadly, according to one South Hadley High parent, the issue has not gone away. Jennifer Kalvinek, mother of sophomore Payton Spinney, said her daughter has been tormented with verbal taunts as well as physical threats. Gus Sayer, superintendent of South Hadley schools, acknowledged to People that some of Payton's classmates had bullied her and that punitive action was recently taken against the students involved.
In our Jan. 10 issue, we should have credited photographer Carrie Reiser for the Bret Michaels cover photo and three photos in the Bret Michaels engagement story. Also, photographer Deborah Falco should have been credited for the Michaels family photos in the Table of Contents and on page 53. Finally, in our Jan. 24 issue, we incorrectly stated the release date of the upcoming movie Green Lantern. The film opens June 17. People regrets the errors.
