The singer, 27, shares the fashion and beauty tips that keep her true to her roots, "only prettier!"

MY STYLE IS ... Just the right amount country and rock 'n' roll. I'm most comfortable in jeans and boots, but I do love getting dressed up for a big event.

I FEEL MOST BEAUTIFUL WHEN ... I'm at home hanging out on the farm-jeans and no makeup.

BEST DRUGSTORE BUY Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in black.

BIGGEST SPLURGE Boots! I love boots! Especially vintage types.

FASHION TREND SHE WAS MOST NERVOUS TO TRY I used to think I'd never wear skinny jeans, and now I love them. My favorites are J Brand High Rise.

MY BEAUTY MUST-HAVE IS ... Without question, it's lip gloss! I like MAC Tinted Lipglass in Prrr.

JEANS

"My William Rast boot-cut jeans are worn-in and comfy."

BOOTS

"I got my first pair of Old Gringo boots when White Liar went platinum."

Long-Sleeve Dresses

Dresses with ¾-or full-length sleeves are in. Here's how to wear them.

CHOOSE ONE ACCESSORY: "Add a cuff bracelet over a tight sleeve," says stylist Gillian Steinhardt. "If the sleeves are billowy, opt instead for one great, long necklace with a pendant."

SHOW A LITTLE LEG! Avoid high boots, as well as tights or stockings. Try an open-toe heel or wedge.

SMOKY EYES MADE SIMPLE

Get Martina McBride's sexy look in four easy steps

1/Create a Base

Apply a soft, neutral color shadow on your eyelid. Mary Beth Felts, McBride's makeup artist, used Laura Mercier's Metallic Crème Eye Colour in Burnished Copper.

2/Outline

Using a black eyeliner pencil, trace around the lash line, both top and bottom, and the eye's inside rim. Felts likes L'Oreal's Le Kohl Pencil Smooth Defining Liner in Onyx.

3/Blend

Lightly smudge the liner with a brush. "Look for one with a round, tightly packed tipped point," says Felts. "You can smooth over the line again if it's too harsh."

4/Polish

Curl your lashes and finish with two coats of mascara. "You need to emphasize the top and bottom lashes," says Felts. "It adds definition and a more polished look."
