When Dancing with the Stars winner J.R. Martinez, 28, and his girlfriend, Diana Gonzalez-Jones, 29, learned they were expecting their first child, they were thrilled-and nervous. "Our immediate families don't live in L.A.," the former All My Children actor explains. "We were worried about how much love and support we would receive." They needn't have stressed. On March 17, 40 of their friends and relatives gathered to celebrate the parents-to-be with an intimate shower at the Hollywood Hills home of AMC executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers."It was lovely," a guest tells PEOPLE of the English tea party-themed fete, where the menu included finger sandwiches and Gonzalez-Jones's favorite treat: red velvet cake. The "fun, festive" day had emotional moments, too, like when the couple read a book of messages guests had written for their baby girl, due this spring. Says the source: "They both teared up!"Now the Iraq War vet and Dancing king is ready to add another title-"Daddy"-to his roster. "We get excited," says Martinez, "with every kick."
