CHARLIZE THERON

BABY JOY!

After announcing last week that she'd adopted a 4-month-old baby boy, Jackson, Charlize Theron, 36, has been reveling in good vibes. "It's been amazing, the amount of e-mails and congratulations," she told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show March 17. "Everyone's just been so lovely; it's been really nice." The road to motherhood hasn't been as easy. "This has been very long and an emotional roller coaster," says a source. "But she has been very patient and has had a great attitude." The South African stunner, who has been single since her 2010 split from her longtime boyfriend, actor Stuart Townsend, 39 (she was recently linked to True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard, 35), can count on her mom, Gerda, 59, who lives nearby in Los Angeles, to help. As Theron has said, becoming a mother herself is "everything that I wanted. It's just surprising that your heart can turn into mush like that."

BOBBI KRISTINA'S RING EXPLAINED

Bobbi Kristina Brown, 19, is currently in a relationship with Nick Gordon, 22, whom her late mother, Whitney Houston, had raised like a son since he was around 12. Now the teen is wearing her mom's diamond ring on her left hand (which celebrity jeweler Neil Lane estimates to be 10-plus carats and worth approximately $250,000). While a source tells Scoop Gordon "asked Krissi to marry him," a rep for her aunt and uncle, Pat and Gary Houston, denies an engagement, saying the reports are "not true."

Padma Lakshmi

CUSTODY BATTLE: OVER

The Top Chef host can now take a breather after a year of head-on baby drama with 2-year-old Krishna's father, Adam Dell. Lakshmi, 41, who initially kept mum on her child's paternity, agreed to change her daughter's name to Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell, and gave the venture capitalist, 42, increased custody and visitation rights. "I didn't lose anything," said Lakshmi, who retains decision-making power over Krishna's life. "What does it matter what a little girl's name is?" With the suit now behind her, the Endometriosis Foundation of America cofounder adds, "I look forward to my family having a normal life."

MARILYN MONROE

People Exclusive!

NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN PHOTOS BELONGING TO HER MAKEUP ARTIST ALLAN 'WHITEY' SNYDER HIT THE BLOCK MARCH 31-APRIL 1

Snyder's children told Darren Julien of Julien's Auctions that "when Marilyn was down she loved to be photographed. Whitey would take out his camera and she'd pose. It would get her mind off her problems."

Whitey (right, with Monroe in 1953 on the set of Niagara) was her makeup artist for 15 years.

Taken by Whitey on the 1957 set of The Prince and the Showgirl.

Among Whitey's collection is a vintage Andre De Dienes image from 1953.

SHOTS FROM HER FINAL FILM

Monroe was 36 in these 1962 wardrobe photos taken by Whitey for her last film, Something's Got to Give, directed by George Cukor. She died later that year and never completed filming.

ASHTON KUTCHER

Ready for Blast Off!

After a very public breakup, Ashton Kutcher is looking for some space-the "final frontier" kind. The actor, 34, just became the 500th customer to sign up for one of Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic space flights and is scheduled for lift-off some time next year. On March 19 Branson said, "I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate him. He is thrilled to experience the magic of space for himself." Passengers on the $200,000, 2½-hour flight, which will include Russell Brand and reportedly Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, must undergo three days of g-force and zero-gravity training that takes place in New Mexico at the world's first commercial spaceport.

EVA LONGORIA

OLDER & WISER

After her recent split with beau Eduardo Cruz, 27, whom she dated for a year, it could've been a bummer birthday for Eva Longoria. But on March 15 the actress was all smiles at Cecconi's in West Hollywood during a surprise 37th dinner party thrown by pal Victoria Beckham, 37, with guests Kate Beckinsale, 38, and Ken Paves, 40. "I didn't want to celebrate this year, not because I was depressed but because it's an uneventful year!" she joked to Scoop, adding that she's "excited about things to come."
