Prince Harry is heading to Antarctica. The favorite-uncle-to-be is joining a team of wounded British military personnel to race to the South Pole against wounded veterans and service members from the United States, Australia and Canada. Harry, 28, and his teammates are taking part in the 208-mile excursion beginning in November to aid one of his favorite charities, Walking with the Wounded. The Prince took part in a similar trek to the North Pole in 2011.
Rock of Ages actress Malin Akerman, 34, and musician Roberto Zincone, 38, are officially first-time parents. "My husband and I welcomed our beautiful, healthy baby boy to this world this morning!" she tweeted on April 16. "Biggest joy of my life! PS his name is ... Sebastian Zincone. Love him more than life itself!"
Full House alum Jodie Sweetin (inset) revealed she is a happily married woman. The former teen star, 31, said "I do" to actor Morty Coyle, 44, in a private ceremony on March 15, 2012. "We wanted to keep it quiet and intimate for a while but felt that on our first wedding anniversary, it was time to share," she told PEOPLE. The couple's daughter Beatrix, 2½, and Sweetin's daughter Zoie, 5, with ex-husband Cody Herpin, participated in the ceremony held in Beverly Hills. This is the third marriage for Sweetin.
Folksinger Richie Havens, who gave his breakthrough performance as the opening act at 1969's Woodstock music festival, died of a heart attack on April 22 in Jersey City, N.J. He was 72. Havens, who toured and recorded music for over 40 years, retired from the road in 2012. "Everything in my life, and so many others', is attached to that train," he said of Woodstock during a 2009 interview with the Associated Press.

Eric Christian Olsen, star of CBS's NCIS: Los Angeles, and his wife, Men at Work actress Sarah Wright, 29, are expecting their first child, a boy, in August. "When they handed me the 3-D sonogram and I saw Sarah's perfect lips and that little Norwegian nose just like mine, I was overcome with a sense of clarity in the world that I can only imagine is the beginning of fatherhood," Olsen, 35, told PEOPLE.
Bobby Deen, youngest son of celebrity chef Paula Deen, recently proposed to his girlfriend, commercial producer Claudia Lovera, 27, in his hometown of Savannah, Ga. "She makes me better, and she's a good cook," the Cooking Channel star, 43, told PEOPLE. And how does his mother feel about the engagement? "My mama's over the moon!"
TEXAS FERTILIZER PLANT EXPLOSION
On April 17 a fertilizer plant in the small farming community of West, Texas, about 20 miles north of Waco, exploded, killing 14 people and injuring at least 200. Investigators have yet to determine what sparked the fire that set off the blast. With recovery efforts underway, residents are returning to their homes to salvage belongings. "It's just unbelievable," resident Dee Dablin told NBC News. "But I'm alive, that's all. I'm alive."
