Country singer and author Chely Wright, 42, and her wife, music executive Lauren Blitzer, 32, welcomed identical twin sons George Samuel and Everett Joseph on May 18 in New York City. The baby boys, who are named after their great-grandfathers, weren't due until this summer but are doing well. "We are grateful for all the amazing medical care and the love and support of family and friends," Wright told PEOPLE. The two were married in 2011 after the country crooner came out publicly in 2010.

Actress Morena Baccarin, who plays Damian Lewis's wife on Showtime's hit series Homeland, is going to be a mom. The Brazilian star, 33, and her husband, writer-director Austin Chick, 41, are expecting their first child together, her rep told PEOPLE. The couple have been married since 2011.
Season 8 American Idol winner Kris Allen, 27, will undergo a second surgery to repair a wrist injury from a January car accident. "My surgery will leave me with limited movement for the rest of my life, but will take away the pain and give me most of my strength back," he announced on May 16 in a message on his website. "After everything is healed, I will be able to play guitar. I will be able to throw a baseball with my [expected] kid."
The Doors' keyboardist and founding member Ray Manzarek (inset) passed away from bile-duct cancer on May 20 in Rosenheim, Germany, with his wife, Dorothy, and brothers Rick and James by his side. He was 74. In 1965 Manzarek and Jim Morrison, a poet and singer, formed the Doors after the two met on Venice Beach in California. The Doors became one of the most successful rock and roll bands to emerge from the 1960s, selling more than 100 million albums worldwide. The band disbanded following Morrison's death in 1971, at the age of 27. Singer-songwriter Alan O'Day, best known for his 1977 No. 1 hit song "Undercover Angel," died in Westwood, Calif., on May 17. The cause was cancer. He was 72. O'Day wrote some of the biggest hits of the '70s, including the Righteous Brothers' "Rock and Roll Heaven" and "Train of Thought," which was recorded by Cher.
30 Rock actress Katrina Bowden, 24, said "I do" to musician Ben Jorgensen, 29, on May 19 at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. "I married y'all," she tweeted after the ceremony. The couple, who got engaged the night before 2012's Screen Actors Guild Awards, plan to honeymoon in Hawaii.
