JEN & JUSTIN: NEW HOUSE, NEW PLANS
With the sawdust still flying in their new Bel Air home, Jennifer Aniston and fiancé Justin Theroux took a break from overseeing their extensive renovations and flew down to New Orleans to attend the June 1 nuptials of his friend, tattoo artist Scott Campbell, to actress Lake Bell. (See page 78 for more on the wedding.) At the reception, Aniston, 44, stuck close to Theroux, 41, as he did most of the mingling, says an observer. Adds another: "She looked happy."
It was a much-needed breather for the couple, who have been staying in a Beverly Hills hotel while construction workers put the finishing touches on the home Aniston bought last year for $21 million. "They're officially moving in this week," says an insider close to the couple. After being spotted out furniture shopping in L.A., they had most of their belongings brought over to the new property—which features an 8,500-sq.-ft. mid-century modern house, a pool and three acres of gardens - on May 20.
Creating that perfect space together has been time-consuming for the couple, who have both been hands-on during the construction process. Aniston stayed behind in L.A. for two days before joining Theroux in New Orleans "to supervise some last-minute house details," says the insider. Their move-in date has become a priority over plans for another big day as well. "They decided it was too much to plan a wedding while getting their new house ready," says the insider. "They decided to focus on the house."
With so much to keep them busy - Aniston will begin shooting her next film, She's Funny That Way, in July and promote her comedy We're the Millers in August - the couple are trying to take on one thing at a time. For now that seems to be "just normalizing and nesting," as the actress described her goal to people earlier this year. Says the insider: "Jen and Justin are both eager to get the house ready. They just can't wait to move in."
JOHN & KATY
Stretching the term "friendly exes," John Mayer, 35, and Katy Perry, 28, have been spending a lot of time together recently. They enjoyed a night out with pals at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills on June 2 ("They were snuggled next to each other and looked very happy," says an onlooker), and Mayer attended a Memorial Day party at Perry's home. A Perry friend says a reconciliation isn't out of the question: "Since they broke up, she's wanted to maintain a friendship with him - maybe something more."

TOO MUCH SHARING?
He could be accused of oversharing, but Michael Douglas, 68, was just trying to raise awareness when he told The Guardian that oral sex - if your partner has HPV-16, a strain of the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus - can lead to the kind of throat cancer he had. (His rep later clarified that the actor "did not say cunnilingus was the cause of his cancer.") Experts say only one percent of Americans have HPV-16; typically it takes over 20 years before the infection develops into cancer, and for many, it never does. Still, HPV-related throat cancers are on the rise. As Douglas said on June 3, he "tried to give a [public service] announcement .... There are vaccinations that kids can get."
JOHNNY DEPP'S STYLE EVOLUTION
IN HIS JOURNEY FROM PINUP TO PIRATE, THE LONE RANGER STAR HAS REDEFINED COOL
Preppy Depp: Blazers and Oxfords once graced the 21 Jump Street heartthrob.
Post-Edward Scissorhands, he went English fop in his neckwear experiments.
The hair gets long and the chains go on. The links would soon become a signature accessory.
By the first Pirates of the Caribbean, he'd switched from stocking caps to wide-brimmed hats.
Depp opted for drapey scarves during his Sweeney Todd period.
The wallet chain and bandana have become ever-present elements of his style, but the waistcoat keeps him from being confused for a mechanic.
Happy 50th Birthday!
From his wrist cuff to skull rings, long scarves to fedoras, Depp's fashion progression has been as layered as his performances. To mark his June 9 birthday, Scoop looks back at his evolution and finds there is hardly an accessory the professional scallywag couldn't rock.
