Beverley Mitchell: Meet Her Little Angel
Fans Loved Her as 7th Heaven's Spunky Lucy Camden. But the Actress Prefers Her New Role: Blissed-Out Mom
Born March 28 5 lbs. 15 oz.
At first, Beverley Mitchell admits, the whole experience of becoming a mother seemed pretty unreal. Checking into the hospital March 28, "I felt like I was in Grey's Anatomy or something," the former 7th Heaven actress recalls, curling into the couch at her Hidden Hills, Calif., home June 21 as daughter Kenzie sleeps peacefully in the other room. "It wasn't until I actually got to hold her that it was like, 'Whoa, this is actually happening,'" she adds. "It was overwhelming, but at the same time it felt so natural."
Now the actress, 32, and her husband, real estate investor Michael Cameron, 33, are enjoying what has been a surprisingly seamless transition into parenthood. "I have a sleeper on my hands!" boasts the new mom. "She sleeps seven to eight hours." So rather than share nighttime feeding duties, the couple take turns cuddling. "Michael gets night cuddle time; I get mornings and I can't live without it," says Mitchell. Already the two see a feisty personality emerging. "She's goofy - she loves to giggle and make funny faces," she says. "But she just started doing the pout. It's our favorite thing."
Though Mom will go back to work eventually - "you will see me on TV again," Mitchell says - she's not in a hurry. "This time is precious," says the actress. "It feels like this is how things are supposed to be. I can't even remember life without her."
