WELCOMES BABY ACE
Jessica Simpson, who turns 33 on July 10, had an early birthday present delivered this year: The Fashion Star mentor and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, 33, celebrated the arrival of their son Ace Knute on June 30 in L.A., her rep confirms to PEOPLE. (The middle name pays tribute to Johnson's Swedish grandfather.) Since she discovered she was giving her daughter Maxwell, 1, a little brother, Simpson told PEOPLE in April, she has been "anxious" to meet her little guy: "I didn't grow up with a brother, and I didn't have little boys around. I don't really know what to expect, and that makes it fun for me. I'm not intimidated by trucks or blocks!" Plus Johnson - a former NFL player - is ready to raise a mini quarterback. "Eric is so excited to have a little boy," says Simpson. "I was worried Maxwell was going to have to take on all the sports!"
While Simpson needs time to sort out baby Ace's wardrobe ("I don't know what his look is going to be," Simpson says. "I have to wait to meet him to know what I'm going to like him in"), no doubt a formal onesie will be in order soon. After three years together, the next step for Simpson and Johnson will be to - finally! - tie the knot. "I definitely look forward to the day that I can look into his eyes and make that commitment that we both really long for," says the new mom of two, adding with a laugh, "He's just got to stop knocking me up!"
As for slimming down for the big day? "Whenever the doctors give me the go-ahead, I'll start training," says Simpson, a Weight Watchers spokeswoman. "I'm anxious to have my body back for myself, but I have to be patient. I don't know how long it's going to take, but I'm planning on working hard."
DRAMA WITH HER DAD
Ten days after she filed for divorce, Tish, 46, and Billy Ray Cyrus, 51, looked surprisingly cozy going out for pizza in L.A. June 23 with their daughter Noah, 13. But not everything is looking up in the Cyrus family. The next day daughter Miley, 20, took to Twitter to issue what appeared to be a public ultimatum to Billy Ray. The mysterious tweet (below left) - which included a photo of her dad's 2012 Chicago costar Dylis Croman - was quickly deleted, but a source says tension remains over her parents' on-again, off-again relationship. (Billy Ray filed for divorce in 2010 but dropped it months later.) "Miley has always supported them when they are together, but their ups and downs are frustrating for her," says the source. "She feels very protective of her mom and sister."

MICHAEL JACKSON'S KIDS
RELIVING THEIR NIGHTMARE
It was another heartbreaking moment for a family that just three weeks earlier had been rocked by Paris Jackson's suicide attempt. On June 26 her brother Prince, 16, took the stand during the trial for his family's wrongful-death suit against AEG Live and had to relive his father Michael's final, tragic days. Well-spoken and poised, Prince described Michael as a doting dad who'd taught him and siblings Paris, 15, and Blanket, 11, the value of school, service and hard work. But recalling how Jackson logged grueling hours in 2009 preparing for his This Is It concert series, Prince grew solemn. "He would get off the phone and cry sometimes. He would say, 'They're going to kill me,'" Prince said. He then recounted how Dr. Conrad Murray - Jackson's personal physician, who was convicted in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter - told him, "Sorry, kid, your dad's dead," and described the horrific scene. "My dad was halfway off the bed; his eyes were in the back of his head. My sister was screaming the whole time, saying she wants her daddy," Prince said. "She was probably hit the hardest. She was my dad's princess."
Indeed, four years later Paris - who has been hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center's psychiatric ward since taking pills and cutting her arm on June 5 - is still struggling with her dad's death. Though she seemed to be doing well, joining her school's cheerleading team and building a relationship with her biological mom, Debbie Rowe, 54, she'd been going through "rough times," Prince said. According to a source close to the family, Paris was also dealing with cyberbullies before her suicide attempt. "They'd been saying horrible things, like 'Michael is not your father, so go kill yourself and die,'" says the source, adding that after weeks of intensive therapy at UCLA, the teen will be transferred to an out-of-state adolescent treatment center for more help. Says the source: "Paris is a fighter."
