Jimmy Kimmel is known for playing pranks on his late-night talk show, but at his July 13 wedding, it was his bride who got the biggest laugh. Unbeknownst to the groom, 45, his fiancée, Molly McNearney, a co-head writer on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
, enlisted their pal actress Gabourey Sidibe to walk down the aisle in a wedding dress to start off the ceremony. "Everyone was cracking up," says an insider. "It was hysterical." Laughter gave way to tears when McNearney, 35, finally made her way down the aisle in a Monique Lhuillier gown alongside her parents to the Avett Brothers' "I and Love and You." Then, underneath a tree decorated with peonies and lanterns, the couple exchanged personal vows in front of family, including Kimmel's kids Katie, 21, and Kevin, 19, and a few famous friends (see box). "Several guests were emotional," says a source. "It was beautiful." The party, organized by event planner Mindy Weiss, later moved to a nearby tented reception, where the newlyweds shared their first dance to Ray LaMontagne's "Let It Be Me" before tucking into a family-style dinner. Then partygoers, who were asked to make charitable donations in lieu of gifts, let loose on the dance floor until 3:30 a.m., when the bash ended with food trucks serving lobster rolls and grilled cheese. The whole night "Jimmy and Molly were smiling from ear to ear," says the source. Adds Weiss: "It was a very happy day."
