Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott, 27, and her husband, drummer Chris Tyrrell, 26, are the parents of their first baby, Eisele Kaye, born on July 22 in Nashville. Her name is a combination of Chris's mother's maiden name and Hillary's mother's middle name. "She is incredibly gorgeous," Tyrrell told PEOPLE. Emmy-nominated actress Anna Chlumsky and her entrepreneur husband, Shaun So, both 32, welcomed their first child, Penelope Joan So, on July 11 in New York City. "She's a really good mix between my husband and me," the Veep star told PEOPLE. As for motherhood, "it's seriously the best thing," Chlumsky said. "She has made my life even better."
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, 37, married his boyfriend of nearly three years, lawyer Justin Mikita, 27, in New York City on July 20. Playwright-screenwriter Tony Kushner officiated the ceremony and guests included Ferguson's Modern Family costar Julie Bowen, who later dubbed the service "#best weddingever" on Twitter. Rick Harrison, star of the History channel's Pawn Stars, tied the knot with girlfriend Deanna Burditt, 38, in Laguna Beach, Calif., on July 21. "It was just the happiest time of my life," Harrison, 48, told PEOPLE.
White House correspondent Helen Thomas, who covered every president from John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama, died in Washington, D.C., on July 20. She was 92. The journalist joined the United Press International in 1943 and began covering the White House in 1960. She retired in 2010 after making controversial comments regarding Jews in Palestine. Known for asking blunt questions, Thomas did extraordinary work "because of her intelligence, her lively spirit and great sense of humor," said former President Bill Clinton.

After reportedly starting a small fire in the driveway of a home in Thousand Oaks, Calif., on July 22, Amanda Bynes, 27, was involuntarily "detained and taken for a mental health evaluation," Ventura County Sheriff's Captain Don Aguilar told PEOPLE. The sheriff's department responded to a call about the fire, and after questioning Bynes, they determined she needed to be placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold. Bynes will be in lockdown for up to 72 hours.
VETERAN ACTOR DENNIS FARINA DIES
Dennis Farina, best known for his work on Law & Order, passed away at age 69 in Scottsdale, Ariz., on July 22. He suffered from a blood clot in his lung, said his rep. Farina spent 18 years in the Chicago police force burglary division before turning to acting at 37, becoming a familiar face on television, film and stage. He starred on Law & Order from 2004 to 2006, channeling his real-life experience to play Chicago native Det. Joe Fontana. His film roles ranged from Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan to Get Shorty with John Travolta. He leaves behind longtime partner Marianne Cahill, three sons and six grandchildren.
