CONFESSIONS OF A FORMER TEEN STAR
From boy bander to bad boy? Freed from the pressures of maintaining a squeaky-clean image, Joe Jonas, 24, is telling all about the wilder side of growing up as one-third of the Jonas Brothers. In a recent first-person piece for New York magazine, the singer dished on everything from the purity rings he and his brothers Kevin, 26, and Nick, 21, used to wear to dating and drugs. "The first time I smoked weed was with Demi [Lovato] and Miley [Cyrus]. I must have been 17 or 18," he wrote. "They kept saying, 'Try it! Try it!'" Jonas added that during his short-lived romance with Lovato, he "got to see the ins and outs of what she was struggling with, like drug abuse." Though unhappy, he felt obligated to stay with her through her troubles. "I had a brand to protect," he explained.
That also meant he and his brothers had to downplay their sexuality. "Because of Disney, because of those rings, there were so many things throughout our career we had to sugarcoat," Jonas wrote. "If a lyric was slightly sexual, someone at the record company would tell us we had to change it." Despite the publicized pledge to wait until marriage, Jonas added that he lost his virginity at 20 (though he did not name her, he was dating Twilight's Ashley Greene, 26, around that time).
So why all the honesty now? With the Jonas Brothers disbanded, he felt "finally free to clear up misconceptions that were out there," says a source close to Jonas. "This was a cathartic experience." Up next for him: working on a solo album. "I have control of my life, and I'm back to the drawing board," he said. "I don't have to rely on anyone else's opinion."
A KARDASHIAN KRISTMAS
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE REALITY-TV FAMILY'S LATEST OVER-THE-TOP HOLIDAY CARD
On the Keeping up with the Kardashians: A Very Merry Christmas special (re-airing Dec. 8 at 1:30 p.m. ET/PT on E!), photographer David LaChapelle described the set as "futuristic" and "messy."
BLASTS FROM THE PAST
Highlights of the family's lives - including Bruce Jenner's Olympic glory - are featured on the television screens in the background.
ALL DOLLED UP
Kim Kardashian refused to dye her hair black for the shoot. "I'm going to be a golden goddess," she proclaimed on the special.
RISING ABOVE THE RUMORS
Kendall and Kylie Jenner literally trample on stories that have been written about the family.
ODD MAN IN
Bruce, recently separated from Kris, lobbied to join the originally girls-only shoot—and ended up trapped in a tube.
DATING A BILLIONAIRE
Just weeks after announcing her split from husband Orlando Bloom, 36, model Miranda Kerr, 30, is already getting romanced by a new man: billionaire James Packer, 46. According to an insider, the fellow Australians bonded two years ago, after Kerr asked Packer for business advice; last year they even traveled to Bora Bora together with their families. Around the time Kerr's marriage was collapsing, Packer was parting ways with his own wife, Erica, with whom he has three children. While a Kerr source insists the two are strictly friends, the insider says, "They are definitely seeing each other. It's in the early stages." Packer, a close pal of Tom Cruise's, is worth a reported $6 billion between the inherited media empire he sold last year and his thriving gaming business. "When James is in love, it encompasses him," says the insider. "He falls fast and hard."

JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT
A NEW MOM—AND BRIDE
Jennifer Love Hewitt knows how to keep a secret. When the former Party of Five actress, 34, announced the birth of her daughter Autumn James on Nov. 26, she slipped in the news that she'd quietly gotten married, too: The statement referred to Autumn's dad, Brian Hallisay, 35, to whom Hewitt became engaged earlier this year, as "her husband." The under-the-radar moves are typical for the couple, who began dating last year while costarring on The Client List. "Brian is very private, and they live a very quiet life together," says a source. For Hewitt, motherhood provides a chance to honor the memory of her mom, Patricia, who passed away last year. As she recently told PEOPLE, "I'm ready to pass on to my child all the great love that my mom had for me."
