David Naughton, who appeared in 1970s Dr. Pepper commercials and starred in An American Werewolf in London,
served two days in jail on a domestic violence charge.
Naughton, 57, best known for the exuberant "I'm a Pepper, You're a Pepper" ads, was released Monday from a Nevada jail, police say.
He was arrested in Henderson, Nev., Jan. 28 after police received a call from his wife of five months claiming that she had been abused.
According to Henderson police, Naughton and his wife had been arguing when he "grabbed her arm and threw her around."
A police spokesman also said that when his wife threatened to call police, David "grabbed the phone out of her hand."
Naughton left the scene before police arrived, but was arrested for investigation of domestic battery a short time later. His wife suffered minor injuries.
Naughton was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail but had 28 of those days suspended, after pleading no contest in court, the police spokesman says.
A rep for Naughton declined to comment.
Naughton's arrest was first reported by TMZ.
