Lindsay Lohan Supports Mom's Divorce Plan
Dina Lohan, the mother of Mean Girls actress Lindsay Lohan, has filed for divorce from the star's father, who is estranged from his wife and celebrity daughter. The divorce papers against Michael Lohan were filed Tuesday, Jan. 18, in a Nassau County, New York, court.

A rep for Lindsay, 18, tells PEOPLE: "Lindsay supports her mother's decision."

Dina, 42, who has an order of protection out against her 44-year-old husband, tells PEOPLE: "I want this to move quickly. I wish him the best and I just want to move on." The order of protection stems from a fistfight between Michael and Dina's brother during a party at the family's Long Island home last year. The couple have been married for 19 years.

Last year Michael, who was released from court-ordered rehab program on Monday, faced assault charges in Manhattan for allegedly punching a sanitation worker whose truck was blocking his car.

Reached by PEOPLE on Wednesday, Michael said: "I feel great, now the truth will finally come out, with regard to Dina, her family, my relationship with Lindsay and what it was and is."

Michael said his attorney, Dominic Barbara, is planning to file divorce papers on his behalf in the next few days. Calls to Barbara were not returned.
