Desperate Housewives has already pushed the envelope by showing its stars in various forms of undress, but the scenes left on the cutting room floor could make fans blush, series creator Marc Cherry says.
"We have a nipple problem on our show," Cherry tells the media industry Web site jackmyers.com. "Certain actresses really don't like to wear bras. We try to accommodate them as much as possible. We do a lot of blurring."
While a DVD has not yet been planned, scenes like Nicollette Sheridan in her underwear – deemed too hot for primetime – could end up on the extras reel once the first season goes to DVD, the Web site reports.
"We didn't realize how skimpy her underwear was," Cherry says of the cut Sheridan scene.
Another removed moment focuses on Bree's cheating husband, Rex Van De Kamp, with the town dominatrix in an S&M scenario. "Standards and practices went nuts," says Cherry.
But the items on the cutting room floor reveal more than just skin. Anyone desperately trying to unravel the show's many mysteries will be helped by seeing some of the deleted scenes.
"We've got a couple of plots that are going to make much more sense once you see what we've cut out," Cherry says.
