Charles, Parker Bowles to Wed at Town Hall

Charles's Clarence House office announced Thursday that the couple will exchange their wedding vows on April 8, not at Windsor Castle as previously announced, but next door at the Guildhall which has served as Windsor's town hall since 1690.
The change in plans came about due to wedding licensing problems on the royal property. Because of a quirk of British licensing law, if the couple had registered Windsor Castle as a wedding venue, they would have had to allow others to marry there as well.
After the wedding, Charles, 56, Parker Bowles, 57, and their guests will head into St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle for a service of prayer and dedication to be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Following the service, the Queen will give a reception in the State Apartments at Windsor before the Prince and the newly minted Duchess of Cornwall leave for a Scottish honeymoon.
Clarence House also announced that Parker Bowles has chosen Robinson Valentine to design her outfit and Philip Treacy to design her hat. The hairdresser will be London-based Hugh Green of Hugh and Stephen. The wedding rings will be taken from the same Welsh mine – Clogau St. David's in Bontddu – which provided the rings for previous royal weddings.
