Alleged Kournikova Stalker Barred
BARRED: The man accused of stalking tennis star Anna Kournikova has been ordered to stay at least 1,000 feet away from the tennis player – if he ever gets out of jail, the Associated Press reports. William Lepeska, 40, was arrested Jan. 30 after swimming nude across Florida's Biscayne Bay toward Kournikova's home, where he surfaced at a residence several houses away from hers. Lepeska, who once served time for stabbing a college student, faces charges of battery on police officers, resisting arrest, burglary, and more. If convicted, he may be sentenced up to 30 years in state prison.
ROBBED: Nearly $400,000 in valuables were stolen from Ozzy's son Jack Osbourne during a Los Angeles to London flight, Reuters reports. The jewelry, which included a couple of watches, were most likely removed before the suitcase in which they were stored was placed in the plane's cargo hold, according to reports. The 19-year-old star of The Osbournes reality show was said to be devastated. "They were gifts," Osbourne said.
APOLOGIZED: Eric Benet, R&B singer and former husband of Halle Berry, says he has an apology for his ex-wife – on his upcoming album. In an interview on Access Hollywood, Benet said that even though Berry hasn't heard the songs, she has "heard everything I have to say," AP reports. Benet also said that although he had committed some indiscretions in his relationship with Berry, reports of his behavior were not altogether true.
BUGGED: Kill Bill filmmaker Quentin Tarantino will direct the season finale of one television's most popular shows, CSI, Reuters reports. Tarantino, whose credits include such cult classics as Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, is reportedly a big CSI fan, and will add even "more bugs and blood" to the episode.
DIED: French actress Simone Simon, known to American audiences for her role in the 1942 film Cat People, died Tuesday in Paris, The New York Times reports. Simon began her acting career on the stage in Paris in 1931, and later came to Hollywood. She eventually returned to Europe in the 1950s where she continued to star in movies, and made her final film in 1973. Simon was 93.
