Jennifer's Nightlife Rules
Jennifer Love Hewitt is starring in Oxygen network's TV movie Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber (airing March 12), so it makes sense that she likes to go all out when it comes to making a good first impression. "When I get in the I'm-going-to-party mode, I dedicate myself fully," says Hewitt. "I bring out the hair extensions, put on the makeup and wear the good pants that show off my butt." Her beauty regimen has yielded surprising results. "Last year on my birthday, I went out dancing with friends, and Ja Rule sent two bottles of Cristal to my table as a gift," says Hewitt. "I couldn't believe it. I mean, he sings about Cristal, but you don't think he'll actually send it over to you! I made him sign the bottles and I kept them."
With all the recent celebrity breakups, it's nice to know that some star couples are still going strong. Alanis Morissette reports that all is well with her and fiancé Ryan Reynolds. In fact, the Grammy-winning singer and her actor beau recently filmed a scene together for the romantic comedy Just Friends, which stars Reynolds, Amy Smart and Chris Klein. "I just play myself. It's a cameo," Morissette told us in Washington, D.C., recently, where she was honored for her dedication to eliminating violence against women at Lifetime Television's Champions for Change gala. "Ryan is playing a high-up record executive. And we run into each other. It's a very funny scene." So, what did Morissette think of his portrayal? "He was perfect. He's fantastically slimy." As for wedding plans, the couple (who got engaged in June 2004) aren't in a rush to tie the knot. "There's no (wedding) date. We're happily swimming along in this very short phase," says Morissette. "We'll never be able to be engaged again, so we're milking it for all it's worth."
