Jackson reportedly looked nauseous and put his head on the table as soon as he sat down in the courtroom, where he is being tried for child molestation.
A sickly looking Jackson, shuffling and propped up by two aides, arrived about five minutes late to the Santa Maria, Calif. courthouse, prompting Superior Court Judge Rodney S. Melville to request attorneys from both sides to gather in his chambers. Their meeting lasted 45 minutes, as the jury waited outside.
CNN said that a physician returned to the courtroom with Jackson and his attorneys, and Judge Melville ordered the trial to continue as planned. Monday, sheriff's investigator Sgt. Conn Abel resumed his testimony, which began last Thursday before court recessed for the weekend.
Monday was the second time Jackson arrived late to court. On March 10, in a race with the clock, the pop singer sped to court from an emergency room in order to avoid arrest for a late appearance and the forfeiture of his $3 million bail. At the time, he said he had back trouble.
Jackson, 46, is charged with molesting a 13-year-old at the star's Neverland Ranch in early 2003. He is also charged with four counts of administering alcohol to a minor to aid in the commission of a felony and with conspiring to keep the boy and his family from leaving the ranch.
