The TV personality and her husband, NFL Washington Redskins quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, announced the birth of their daughter, who weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz., in a New York hospital on Wednesday.
This is the couple's first child. Hasselbeck revealed the baby's name during a phone call Thursday to her co-hosts on the ABC daytime show: She is called Grace Elisabeth. The baby shares the same birthday as her father, ABC said.
Hasselbeck, 27, won an on-air audition in 2003 to replace Lisa Ling on the daytime chat fest. The artist and accessories designer, who reads the Bible daily and says she's "always two minutes late on a joke," rose to prominence after going through "living hell" – as she told PEOPLE – to finish fourth on Survivor: The Australian Outback in 2001.
Hasselbeck is currently on six weeks' maternity leave from hosting duties on The View.
