Weekend Update anchor Tina Fey has some breaking news of her own: The Saturday Night Live star and her husband of four years, SNL composer Jeff Richmond, are expecting their first child in September, a rep for the show confirms.
With the season finale on May 21, Fey should still be able to trade quips with co-anchor Amy Poehler until the season wraps.
Afterward, however, things could get hectic for the comedian, who is waiting to hear whether her pilot will be picked up by NBC for next fall. The as-yet-untitled show, in which Fey serves as both star and executive producer, sounds eerily familiar – Fey plays the head writer for a sketch comedy/variety show with a loose-cannon star and controlling executive producer.
Fey, who also wrote and costarred in last year's big-screen hit Mean Girls, will find out the future of her new show in a few weeks, when NBC announces its fall schedule.
Fey, 34, and Richmond, 44, who met prior to their jobs on SNL, dated for seven years before tying the knot in a Greek Orthodox ceremony in 2001.
