The residence is located in the pricey San Fernando Valley town of Encino and was formerly home to Fat Actress star Kirstie Alley. The Sheens paid slightly more than $4 million for it, according to TV's Extra.
While the sale is in effect, Richards, who is eight months pregnant, will still live in the house with her mother and her and Sheen’s 1-year-old daughter, Sam, reports Extra.
Last week, PEOPLE reported that Sheen and his daughter had shared their first one-on-one time since the Two and a Half Men star separated from Richards in March, enjoying some father-daughter bonding and visiting Sheen's parents in Malibu, said a source. (A rep for Sheen wouldn't comment.)
"He loves Sam," says another insider. "He's very attentive to her and always has been." The couple's second baby is due in June.
Richards, 34, took the unusual step of requesting sole legal custody of Sam and the couple's unborn child (Sheen requested joint custody). The move, if successful, would mean that Sheen, 39, can no longer make decisions about the health and welfare of his children – though he could have visitation.
But despite the legalities, a friend of Richards's says: "Denise expects Charlie to be a part of their children's lives. She's not looking to cut ties with him as a father."
