Ian had promised to take Katie had he been the victor, but instead he took Tom Westman, the 41-year-old NYC firefighter and the only other surviving man in the group.
The fury of Ohio grad student Katie Mullen, 25, fueled the alliance with Caryn and nanny Jennifer Lyon – leaving Ian to remark when he makes this discovery that heading off with Tom was his "biggest mistake in the game."
Confronting Katie later, a meeting that ends in tears and an embrace, Ian promises "not to be stupid again."
