Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, was sentenced to 1 1/3 to 4 years in jail on Friday for several charges, including assault and driving while intoxicated.

With head bowed and hands cuffed behind his back, Lohan, 45, listened with a grim face as Judge Claire Weinberg told the teen star's dad that he would be serving concurrent sentences for assaulting his brother-in-law last May at a family party, violating an order of protection, aggravated driving with a suspended license and driving while intoxicated. The judge denied Lohan's request to send him to an alcohol treatment program instead.

Lohan, however, did get one thing from Judge Weinberg: Access to his famous daughter. Weinberg refused to sign a new order of protection for Lindsay Lohan, saying that because the Mean Girls star is now 18, she must file her own request for an order. Assistant District Attorney Joy Watson said Lindsay’s mother, Dina, had made the request on behalf of her daughter. Weinberg did continue the orders of protection for Dina, her assistant and many of Dina's family members.

Michael Lohan, who has been held without bail in the Nassau County jail since crashing a friend's Volvo on Feb. 19, may be able to get out of jail in as little as 11 1/2 months for time already served.
