POSED: Ashley Olsen, who turns 19 on June 13, has landed her first solo magazine cover – that is, minus sister Mary-Kate – thanks to July's Harper's Bazaar. Still, under the heading "Fashion's New 'It' Girl," both Ashley and her twin are applauded for their "dumpster dressing" and "bobo" (bohemian bourgeois) look. "I honestly don't know why we started dressing like that," Ashley tells Harper's, as previewed in USA Today. "We like wearing big, oversized things and it gets photographed. New York weather allows you to layer a lot." As for what inspires their style, Ashley says: "If you look at pictures of the two of us walking down the street, you know we're not trying to look like sex symbols ... Dressing up is all about fun. My idea of the highest compliment is 'adorable.'"
POISED: Michael Jackson, 46, sat subdued and silent in the courtroom Wednesday on the eve of closing arguments in his child-molestation trial, well aware that within a matter of days his future will be placed in the hands of a jury. "It's a very difficult situation to sit in there and know your life is in the balance," his spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain said after the day's court session. "He has strong faith in God and in the judicial system. He knows his fate is in the hands of 12 jurors." Deliberations are expected to begin Friday.
BORN: Singer Stevie Wonder, 55, and his wife Kai Milla welcomed a baby boy May 13, PEOPLE reports in its latest issue. The new tot, named Mandla Kadjely Morris, shares Dad's birthday and weighs 7 lbs., 8 oz. The couple have another son, named Kailand.
CELEBRATED: Having been certified by Guinness World Records as having the longest marriage for a living couple and the oldest aggregate age of a married couple, Britons Percy and Florence Arrowsmith, who celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, say their secret is never going to sleep angry at the other and always share a kiss and hold hands before going to bed. Florence, 100, also has a glass of sherry every day a lunch, and Percy, 105, says, "Yes, dear," a lot, it was also reported. The Arrowsmiths have three children, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The couple's daughter Jane Woolley said her parents are both "very perky" – and Queen Elizabeth sent the couple a congratulatory message. "What a splendid achievement," said Her Majesty.
