Macaulay Culkin Pleads Guilty to Pot Charge
Macaulay Culkin pleaded guilty in an Oklahoma City courtroom on Wednesday to misdemeanor charges of possession of medication without a prescription and marijuana, reports the Associated Press.
The Home Alone star, 24 was given 1-year deferred sentences on each of the charges and ordered to pay $540 in fees.
Culkin was arrested last September after police stopped a car in which he was a passenger. According to court records, officers found more than a half-ounce of marijuana and several tablets of Xanax, a prescription medication used to treat depression and panic disorders.
Assistant District Attorney Greg Mashburn called the arrest "a rare circumstance for Mr. Culkin," and said that the actor "was not an abuser." Appearing in court, Culkin wore a gray suit and a white open-collared shirt and remained silent.
Recently, the former child star testified in the Michael Jackson child molestation case, refuting previous testimony suggesting that the singer may have molested him.
