DON'T buy pets as gifts: "(The recipient's) mother might not approve! When Paris was 14, a friend of hers gave her two cats, Cupcake and Tiger, and they drove me crazy. They were jumping all over the place and knocking my collections over." Today, the Hiltons deal with their many pets, including Paris's Chihuahua Tinkerbell, with a strict cleanup policy: "If there's a pee-pee, whoever sees it, gets it."

DO look your best for your spouse: "I always run in early in the morning and brush my teeth, put on a little cream and then get back in bed. (My husband) is like, 'Honey, that smells so refreshing.' I have this cream that smells like baby powder and it's very fresh and clean."

DON'T believe everything you read: "We read something funny on the airplane that said my husband and Paris's new fiancé (Paris Latsis) had a fight over a bill at a restaurant and that the bill was $5,000. Of course my husband would pay for his daughter and her fiancé. They had invited us, but my husband made sure the bill wasn't even presented at the table – and it certainly wasn't $5,000."
