Ben & Jen Deny Wedding Rumor | Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner
Forget those reports that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner married in West Virginia – or anywhere else – last weekend.

The actor's publicist, Ken Sunshine, tells TV's Access Hollywood that an item about the nuptials in New York's Daily News quoting a florist and wedding planner in Wheeling, W. Va., just isn't true.

Affleck and Garner "are not in West Virginia," says Sunshine. "They did not get married yesterday. They did not get married today."

Brandon Tucker, owner of the Briarwood Flower Shoppe, had told the News that the Alias star requested bouquets of ivory Virginia roses, Casablanca lilies and gardenia. "I was just dumbfounded," said Tucker. "In Wheeling, not too many celebrities come in. I should have worn something different."

The wedding reputedly was to have taken place in a late-night ceremony at the Greenbrier Resort in the Allegheny Mountains.

But whenever a wedding will take place, don't expect much warning.

"This is going to be a very secret wedding. They (don't) want to create another whole frenzy," a friend of the couple's told PEOPLE in April, referring to the bada-bling that characterized Affleck's ill-fated romance with Jennifer Lopez.

Affleck, 32, and Garner, 33, first met while filming 2003's Daredevil, and began dating last summer. Nine months later he proposed, much to the delight of Garner – and her parents, PEOPLE reported. "They had their fingers crossed," says a Garner friend. "They really love Ben."
