But don't be fooled: Sources close to the couple tell PEOPLE the cheery weekend outing doesn't mean a reconciliation is in the offing.
Says a Richards insider: "They're trying to get along for the sake of their kids." (The couple also have a second daughter, Sam, 1.) Another source says that despite the breakdown of her marriage, Richards, 34, wants Sheen, 39, to stay involved as a dad.
"She's not trying to take their father away," says the source. "She's always wanted him to be a part of the children's lives."
Meanwhile, Richards is already shedding baby weight, with the help of a nutritionist. "She eats healthy," says an insider. "She consults with a nutritionist and watches what she eats."
Richards also plans on enlisting in a diet delivery program. But no working out for now: She delivered by cesarean section and can't exercise yet. When fully recovered, she'll resume sessions with her longtime trainer Ray Kybartas.
