The Herbie Fully Loaded star, 18, along with her mom Dina, joined several celebrities Wednesday for the opening of the first De Beers LV diamond store in America, on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue.
The opening also had its share of controversy, as protesters (including feminist icon Gloria Steinem) stood outside the event, calling attention to claims that the South African diamond company has pushed Kalahari Bushmen from their native land because of diamond mining.
When asked about the protests, Lohan replied: "I don't get involved in any drama."
So would it be fair to say she's single? "I'm not seeing anyone," Lohan stressed. "And even if I was seeing someone, I wouldn't tell you."
Others at the opening included Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher and Kathy Hilton. Of diamonds, Hatcher said: "They always make you feel beautiful. But one of my friends told me that I shouldn't wear any diamond rings because guys will think I'm engaged. You'll notice I have no rings on my fingers, which means I'm available!"
As for mother Hilton's opinion of daughter Paris Hilton's diamond ring from fiancé Paris Latsis: "I haven't seen it yet. No one's seen it yet," said Kathy. "All of the magazines think they've seen it, but no one's told me about it. I've heard that it's very, very pretty. It's an emerald cut, I understand."
