The British-born Harvey – whose father was actor Laurence Harvey (1928-73), star of the original The Manchurian Candidate – was pronounced dead after being found in her West Hollywood home and taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, reports the Associated Press.
An autopsy is scheduled, but the cause of death will probably not be released until results of blood tests are finished, Brenda Shafer, a spokeswoman for the coroner's office, tells the AP.
Harvey (whose mother was Laurence Harveys third wife, onetime Vogue model Pauline Stone – to be played by Jacqueline Bisset in the upcoming movie), gave up a lucrative Ford modeling career and a socialite life to become a bounty hunter.
"Domino never failed to surprise or inspire me over the last 12 years. She was a free spirit like no other I have ever known," said director Tony Scott, whose biopic Domino is scheduled for release on Nov. 4.
Not that all the events in Dominos life were freewheeling. In May she was arrested in West Hollywood on drug charges. She also faced federal charges of conspiring to distribute drugs, crossing state lines for unlawful activity and having property used in or obtained through criminal activity, notes AP.
