The newly engaged Avril Lavigne kicks off her 39-city tour on Tuesday. PEOPLE takes a look at her trek plus other events to watch for in the coming week:

SUNDAY, JULY 10: The Fourth of July may be over but let the fireworks begin again with the premiere of the new season of The Surreal Life. For the fifth installment, the housemates include former supermodel (and America's Next Top Model judge) Janice Dickinson, Apprentice villain Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth,Salt-n-Pepa rapper Pepa (real name: Sandra Denton), former Perfect Strangers star Bronson Pinchot, bad-boy baseball star Jose Canseco, British model Caprice, and motocross racer Carey Hart (singer Pink's new fiancé. With two divas in the house – Omarosa and Dickinson, that is – sparks are going to fly. The show premieres at 9 p.m.

And VH1 is hoping for a triple punch of reality with the debut of Hulk Hogan's family show Hogan Knows Best at 9:30 p.m. and Celebrity Fit Club 2 at 10:30 p.m. where 'celebs' including Gary Busey, former Warrant singer Jani Lane and Wendy (The Snapple Lady) Kaufman try to trim down.

MONDAY, JULY 11: So, you wanna be a rock star? Join the club. Fifteen aspiring vocalists will vie for the position of being the new lead singer of INXS on Rock Star: INXS, which debuts on CBS at 9 p.m. The Aussie band has been without a lead singer since frontman Michael Hutchence died in an apparent suicide in 1997. Guitarist Dave Navarro and E!'s Brooke Burke host the sing-off. Watch the drama unfold as the rockers live together in a Hollywood home (sound familiar?) and try to out-jam each other. And you'll have plenty of chances to get your fill: In its second week, the show will air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well.

TUESDAY, JULY 12: Newly engaged singer Avril Lavigne hits the road for her summer amphitheater tour and she's kicking it off on her home turf, in Hamilton, Ontario. "I'm ready to go back out and hit the road for another three months," she writes in her new blog. The 39-city trek will end on Sept. 13 in Mexico City. And Lavigne may be crossing paths with her new fiancé, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley. The pop-punk band is opening for Motley Crue on its Carnival of Sin tour, which kicks off July 26 in Irvine, Calif.

And newly single Matthew Perry (he and his girlfriend of two years, Rachel Dunn, broke up last month) takes on hosting duties at the 2005 ESPY Awards, which honors the top sports stars and achievements. Among the sports figures being notes are best female athlete nominees, tennis player Maria Sharapova and Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin, and best male athlete nominees cyclist extraordinaire Lance Armstrong and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps. Also, Destiny's Child will take the stage for one of their final televised performances before going separate ways this fall. The action takes place at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and will air on ESPN on July 17.
