Kirsten & Jake's Hot Night
Kirsten Dunst and Jake Gyllenhaal

On-again, off-again couple Kirsten Dunst and Jake Gyllenhaal have been turning up all over L.A. together (including being spotted smooching at a Hollywood hotel's pool). Recently, the duo made the scene at hot spot Mood, where Gyllenhaal spent most of the night in the deejay booth dancing and singing along to basically every song with DJ Samantha Ronson, while Dunst danced next to him with her girlfriends. At one point, she put her arms around his neck and they cozied up to each other. Later, the two left the club with their arms wrapped around each other.
And Kirsten and Jake weren't the only celeb couple partying there that night. Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson – along with Jessica's sis Ashlee and pals CaCee Cobb and Lachey's good friend Matt Leinart, a Heisman trophy-winning quarterback – were also on-hand at Mood. Simpson spent much of the night dancing on a couch. And in a moment of male bonding, Lachey and Leinart felt each other's muscles. Jessica and Nick managed to sneak in a little one-on-one time when she snuggled up to her husband and put him in an affectionate hold. The group stayed until closing, when their bodyguard escorted them through the club's back door.
A New Outlook
Usher got all decked out for a good cause in New York City recently. The Grammy winner, in an Yves Saint Laurent suit, turned up at swanky restaurant-club Capitale for a black-tie fundraising event for his charity, Usher's New Look. "This (charity) is to teach kids to better themselves and go after their dreams. As a result of being surrounded by negativity, some kids are products of their environment without the true experience of life," the singer, who attended with his dates for the evening – model girlfriend Eishia Brightwell and mom Jonetta Patton – told us. "Here we're giving them an opportunity to see more of their dream."
Usher's Lawrenceville, Ga.-based nonprofit is planning to open a boarding school in Atlanta, at an estimated cost of $30 million. The school's goal: to have its graduates attend four-year colleges. And this year, from July 11-23, the charity launched the first annual Camp New Look, in which 150 children (ages 9 to 17) were selected to travel to Atlanta to attend workshops on the business of entertainment, sports and marketing. Usher – whose upcoming projects include a new clothing line and a role in the drama Dying for Dolly – himself hopes to learn a few new tricks. "I'm a big kid," he says. "So I'll probably take a few workshops."
