Jesse Metcalfe's 'Near-Death' Experience
The tiny plane carried Metcalfe, his actor pal Jonathan Sadowski (who's currently filming the romantic comedy She's the Man with Amanda Bynes) and a publicist. After being unable to land in East Hampton, the plane was diverted to West Hampton. "I was calm," Metcalfe says. "I didn't say my last rites. We were trying to make light of it, but we were all pretty scared. That was the first time I've been (diverted)."
Luckily, all ended well and Metcalfe – who grew up in Connecticut and attended New York University – spent the night on solid ground. "I was really excited to come out here," he says. "I knew it would be a good party."
Night in the City
Sarah Jessica Parker sure likes her Chinese food. The Sex and the City star was transfixed during a recent outing to New York City eatery Rickshaw Dumpling Bar, where she dined with husband Matthew Broderick. "She sidled up to the counter, put her elbows down and put her face in her hands and watched the cooks prepare her dinner," a source tells us. What was on the menu? Chicken and Thai basil dumplings, peanut sate soup for her and pork dumplings for him.
On their way out Parker noticed a Coca-Cola sign in Chinese. She asked owner Kenny Lao what it meant. "He told her that the translation for the four characters on the sign means 'thirsty mouth, happy mouth,'" says the source. "She giggled and thought it was great."
