Ryan Seacrest Rolls Out Fashion Line
Clear the clothes racks: Ryan Seacrest is joining the label brigade.
The 30-year-old American Idol host, who says he's always had a taste for fashion, is now offering his own line of men's and women's T's, tanks, distressed polos shirts as well as sweaters, reports USA Today.
Seacrest credits the look of his R Line shirts, which he describes as a blend of "Hollywood, music, pop culture and humor," to his sister Meredith, a publicist for Entertainment Tonight; ex-girlfriend Shana Wall; and his mother, Connie, who once attended the Atlanta Fashion Institute. Prices for items range from $34 to $84.
As for whose backs the shirts have already adorned, they include those of Lindsay Lohan, Kelly Ripa, Will Smith, Ryan Cabrera and first Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.
"When my friends sparked to these designs, I said, 'Let's take this to the next level,'" says Seacrest, who often wears his personally designed creations on Idol.
In terms of fashion advice, Seacrest has one main tip for fans: "The combination of a blazer over any T-shirt with a pair of jeans is foolproof."
Meanwhile, another Idol star is making a fashion statement. Last season's winner, Carrie Underwood, has agreed to an endorsement deal with Skechers, the California sneaker manufacturer that has also used Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in its ads.
Jessie Schmidt, Underwood's publicist, would not divulge how much the deal will pay the Oklahoma native, but the company can use the 22-year-old singer's image through December of next year.
