American Idol winner Carrie Underwood grabbed another top honor Tuesday – she was named "World's Sexiest Vegetarian" in an annual online poll conducted by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Underwood, who beat out rocker Bo Bice to win the FOX TV talent competition in May, shares the PETA honor with Coldplay's Chris Martin, the Associated Press reports. Underwood, 22, was seen sporting a "V for Vegetarian" T-shirt on the show.
More than 13,000 votes poured in for the contest, according to PETA, and the competition wasn't easy. Among the celebrities Underwood and Martin beat out were David Duchovny, Reese Witherspoon, Avril Lavigne, Prince and Joaquin Phoenix.
In 2004 top honors went to OutKast singer Andre 3000 and Alicia Silverstone. In years past, Tobey Maguire, Lauren Bush and Shania Twain have all won the award.
