Lohan was set to join Herbie costar Michael Keaton on a promotional visit for the British launch of the Disney film, but decided at the last minute to return home to be with her family.
Lohan's mother, Dina, 42, who is also the actress's co-manager, filed for divorce from Lohan's father, Michael, in January after 19 years of marriage.
Michael Lohan, 45, who is currently serving a four-year prison sentence on charges of assault and drunk driving, has requested a percentage of his daughter's earnings in the divorce suit. But he later said he'd forget the money if the family agreed to star in a reality show. That never happened.
Earlier this year, Lohan lashed out at her father, saying he didn't deserve any of her earnings. In an interview with W magazine, the actress said her father didn't do anything for her or her mother except cause them grief when he was out all night. "I don't think he deserves anything," Lohan said. "He doesn't even deserve my respect."
Although Lohan is continuing her entertainment career amidst her parents' domestic troubles, Dina told PEOPLE in February that the family feud is taking its toll: "It's definitely hurting her."
