Claiming a scheduling conflict, the American Idol judge has removed herself from her previous announced commitment to appear as a guest choreographer on FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, says her publicist.

"It became apparent that her prior commitments … made it impossible to be part of this new show," her rep Ken Sunshine, said in a statement.

Abdul, 43, is said to be busily involved in promoting an Idol DVD and working on the show's next season. In their own statement, the Dance producers and FOX say they "respect Paula's decision to step away."

Meanwhile, FOX and the producers of Idol recently announced that an outside lawyer is investigating claims by former contestant Corey Clark that he had an affair with Abdul while he was on the show. Abdul has denied the allegations.

In other TV news, cable channel Bravo has added two episodes to its eight-episode commitment of Being Bobby Brown. The reality series chronicles the life of the R&B singer, his wife, Whitney Houston, and their family. The Aug. 18 episode will look inside the couple's homes in suburban Georgia and New Jersey. The season finale will air Aug. 25.
