Dick Clark, felled by a stroke last December that forced him to miss his traditional TV perch in Times Square on New Year's Eve, will be back in place this Dec. 31.
Clark, 75, will cohost the upcoming 34th edition of ABC's New Year's Rockin' Eve with 30-year-old Ryan Seacrest – who eventually stands poised to take over the gig solo once Clark finally bows out, Reuters reports.
No date for Clark's eventual retirement has been announced.
"It will be good to be back in New York again for New Year's, and I'm elated that Ryan has agreed to join me in ushering in New Year's on America's favorite holiday special," Clark, who has yet to appear in public since his stroke, says in a statement.
Last year, Regis Philbin filled in for Clark on ABC, while Seacrest rocked in the new year from Times Square on FOX, which also broadcasts the show he hosts, American Idol.
