Eminem Seeks Treatment for Sleeping Pills | Eminem
Eminem has checked himself into a treatment center for dependency to sleep medication, his publicist tells Reuters.

The announcement came two days after the Grammy-winning rapper, 32, had called off his 10-concert European tour, scheduled to kick off Sept. 1 in Germany, citing exhaustion.

In a brief statement, Dennis Dennehy said Eminem (real name: Marshall Mathers III), "is in the hospital under doctors' care."

Eminem completed the American leg of his "Anger Management" tour last week and this week his label, Interscope Records, issued a statement saying: "Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues. The shows are not expected to be rescheduled."

Last month, Eminem denied a report that said he was planning to retire after releasing four multiplatinum albums, including his latest, Encore. But he did say he might be taking a breather from his solo career.

"When I say I'm taking a break, I'm taking a break from my music to go in the studio and produce my other artists and put their albums out," Eminem told MTV. "When I know my next move, I'll tell everyone my next move."
