Jenny McCarthy & Husband Divorcing

Jenny McCarthy and her husband, director John Asher, have filed for divorce in Los Angeles after nearly six years of marriage, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The couple, who met in 1999 when Asher directed McCarthy in the film Diamonds, are citing irreconcilable differences," according to her rep Brad Cafarelli.

McCarthy, 32, and Asher, 34, who wed on Sept. 11, 1999, have a 3-year-old-son, Evan.

McCarthy is a former Playboy playmate turned actress who currently stars in the UPN show Bad Girl's Guide. She also starred in the TV series Jenny, and has written two best selling books about pregnancy and motherhood, "Belly Laughs" and "Baby Laughs."

She next stars in the feature film, Dirty Love, which she wrote and which Asher directed. It is scheduled to open in September.
