Katie Gallagher, the runner-up on this past season's Survivor: Palau, was arrested last Wednesday for drunken driving in her hometown of Merced, Calif., reports the Associated Press.
Gallagher, 30, was held overnight and released the next morning, according to Merced County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Scott Dover. She has another court date slated for Oct. 31.
On CBS's Survivor Web site, Gallagher – who lost the $1 million prize to New York City fireman Tom Westman on the reality series’ May 15 finale – describes herself as "optimistic, spontaneous, sarcastic, full of opinions and hilarious."
Some of her fellow castaways did not share that opinion, however. On the show, members of the tribal council branded her as lazy, cruel, "worthless around camp" and prone to mocking others.
Still, Gallagher, a former radio advertising representative, took home the $100,000 second place prize. She said at the time that coming in second to Westman was the best she could hope for.
"I knew Tom was going to win," she told PEOPLE in May. "No one could win against Tom. He's like Robo-Tom. He's not human."
