Louisville loves Orlando, and the actor loves it right back. In the Kentucky city for his Elizabethtown premiere – the movie filmed there – Bloom was all but a local, making one of his first stops at Wagner's Pharmacy. There he chowed down on lunch, chatted with fans and signed autographs. He also dropped in to local store Leatherhead, where he met more admirers. "We talked about meeting him last year and he asked us how we were doing," 14-year-old Sana Saiyed said. "He's so nice."
Bloom spent six weeks last summer in Louisville and neighboring Versailles and Elizabethtown (hence, the movie's name) while making the Cameron Crowe dramedy. "I really had the most amazing time," he told us.
And the good times kept going at the recent premiere, where the ponytail-sporting star greeted more fans who had camped outside the theater for hours. "It's so cool," Bloom said of his screaming admirers. "They're so supportive."
Later, he headed to dinner at Jack Fry's with a group of 10, including girlfriend Kate Bosworth. Bloom had visited the eatery while filming, says owner Susan Seiller. "He's the perfect kind of customer," she says of the laid-back actor, who didn't request any special treatment.
Raising Her Voice
Kimberly Locke recently spent time at an Aldo's shoe store in Washington, D.C., but it wasn't to pick up some new kicks. The American Idol star was in Georgetown to sell "Empowerment" dog tags for YouthAIDS, a nonprofit devoted to fighting the spread of HIV/AIDS among the world's youth. "You always want to stop to try and do something that's gonna make you feel good," says Locke. "This is one of those events. What a great cause."
Locke, who also attended a YouthAIDS conference at nearby Howard University, was on a break from recording the follow-up to her 2004 debut album, One Love. "It's going great – I've been writing and I've written over half of the album," says the singer, who's also a plus-size model for Lane Bryant. The only thing that's missing from her life? "I would love to go out on a date," she says. "But, I'm okay being by myself. I am very single and loving it."
Caught in the Act
Beyonce and Jay-Z, being ushered through the VIP entrance at New York City's Nokia Theatre for Bon Jovi's record release party for Have a Nice Day. The couple – Beyonce, sparkling in a white dress with embroidered trim; Jay-Z, wearing a black T-shirt that said "Pimp accordingly" – looked cozy together.
Nicole Richie, dining with a female friend at the garden restaurant at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood. The Simple Life star ordered a huge burger and ate half of it, along with three French fries.
