So what's in store for these Desperate ladies when season two begins Sept. 25?
Jesse Metcalfe (John) is no longer a regular cast member – and he may leave Gabrielle alone to deal with her pregnancy after the third episode.
Zach's paternity will be revealed, although James Denton (Mike) tells PEOPLE, "I would prefer that Zach weren't my kid only because of the possibilities it leaves open for Mike being single."
Roger Bart (George) has been made a series regular and will grow even closer to Bree, says series creator Marc Cherry. Meanwhile, despite fan speculation, Rex is really dead – although he'll appear in flashbacks: "We have the hardest-working dead people in show business," says producer Kevin Murphy.
And Lynette will face one tough challenge when she goes back to work: Her boss, played by Joely Fisher. Get ready, says Fisher, "There's a new bitch in town!"
