You've been waiting all summer to find out what happens when Mike the plumber finds troubled-teen Zach holding Susan hostage. PEOPLE's got the dirt on Sunday's season premiere of Desperate Housewives, plus other TV favorites returning:
SUNDAY, SEPT. 25: ABC's Desperate Housewives begins its second season at 9 p.m. ET. This much we know: Lynette (Emmy winner Felicity Huffman) will head back to work, Bree (Marcia Cross) will get a visit from her late husband's mother (guest star Shirley Knight) and a pregnant Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) will visit husband Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) in prison. As for the rest of the season, Longoria tells PEOPLE, "Expect the unexpected!"
Speaking of the unexpected, Grey's Anatomy fans won't have to touch that dial to find out how Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) deals with the news that her boyfriend Derek (Patrick Dempsey) is – gulp! – married. The show's second season premieres on ABC at 10 p.m. ET.
THURSDAY, SEPT. 29: Alias is back, with a major plot twist: Sydney (Jennifer Garner) discovers she's pregnant by Vaughn (Michael Vartan), a possible double agent. The real question: Will Vartan, Garner's ex-boyfriend, be back for the entire season? Rumors were rampant that Garner was uncomfortable working with him since she married Ben Affleck – the real-life father of the baby she's expecting this winter. Fans have lobbied to save Vartan's character, but exec producer Jeff Pinkner told Entertainment Weekly: "The rumors of his demise are greatly exaggerated." The show premieres on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
Finally, set your TiVo: The sitcom Star Jones Reynolds calls "still the funniest show on television" begins its last hurrah when the eighth and final season of Will & Grace premieres on NBC at 8:30 p.m. ET. In the live episode, Grace (Debra Messing) considers having an affair with a married man (guest star Eric Stoltz), while Will (Eric McCormack) seeks advice from his new boss (guest Alec Baldwin).
