ANISTON ACTION: In New York to promote her new thriller Derailed, a jovial Jennifer Aniston, 36, hit Manhattan hot-spots, dining with friends at Babbo, checking out Columbus Circle with costar Clive Owen and attending a Halloween party at Nobu 57. She even managed to keep a low profile in some spots. "I don?t think many people eating here even recognized her," a waitress at Babbo told PEOPLE. Asked at a press conference about her split from Brad Pitt, the actress took pains to say that, at heart, her experience was like that of millions of others. "This is nothing out of the ordinary. People walk through this stuff all the time," she said. "I'm not a role model or poster child for how to do anything. I have a great family, a great support system, great friends."

SHEEN SHINES: "Things are really good" with wife Denise Richards, Charlie Sheen announced Thursday to CBS Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson. Sheen, 40, even flashed the wedding ring on his left hand. "That's a pretty good indication," he said, beaming. On Sept. 21, PEOPLE reported that Richards was spotted sporting a ring on her wedding finger again as well. At the time, a rep for Richards had no comment about the couple's status, but a source told PEOPLE that the pair had been spending more time together and with their daughters Sam, 1, and Lola, 5 months.

CRUISE CUDDLY: During a charity dinner last weekend at Scientology's English headquarters, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes "were very sweet – holding hands and looking very cuddly," said one of the 3,000 guests. "They looked like they were having a laugh." At one point during the $350-a-plate dinner, singer Isaac Hayes, a fellow Scientologist, called Cruise, 43, and Holmes, 26, to the stage, where they belted out "Mustang Sally" and "Old Time Rock and Roll," which Cruise famously sang in his underwear in 1983's Risky Business. Earlier at the event, Cruise accepted an award for service to Scientology to thunderous applause.

UPHOLDING LAW: The on-again, off-again relationship of Jude Law and Sienna Miller is heating up again. On Wednesday, the two – who initially became engaged last Christmas – made their first public appearance together in six weeks, following what had been termed a permanent split after reported claims of infidelity on both sides: Law, 32, with his children's nanny Daisy Wright, and Miller, 23, with new James Bond star Daniel Craig. This week's public reunion occurred over lunch at a London restaurant, though there was a third wheel at the table: Sienna's mom, Josephine. From there, Miller and Law went on to while the night away in London's Soho, ending up at Gerry's for a late-night drink, reports the Evening Standard. The Daily Mail said the two headed home shortly before dawn.

BABY NEWS: Heath Ledger, 26, and Michelle Williams, 25, welcomed their first child, a daughter, last weekend, PEOPLE reported. The two costar with Jake Gyllenhaal in the soon-to-be-released gay cowboy romance, Brokeback Mountain. As Gyllenhaal tells PEOPLE: "Heath wears his heart on his shoulder. (With) that kind of sensitivity and strength his child will feel safe." Also changing diapers: Big Kenny Alphin, the 6'3" half of the Nashville duo Big & Rich, and his wife Christiev Alphin, who had a baby boy on Wednesday. Lincoln William Holiday Alphin was born around 7:45 a.m. Mother and child are doing fine, their rep told PEOPLE. This is the couple's first child.
