Michael Jackson, who has been living in Bahrain since being cleared of child-molestation charges in June, is not likely to return to his Neverland Ranch or even to the U.S. as a permanent resident, says his father.

"He'll come back to visit, but not to stay, not to live," Joseph Jackson tells the Associated Press. The family patriarch added: "They didn't treat him right here. I know if I was him, I wouldn't come back."

The elder Jackson went on to say that Michael, 47, has received several threats in the U.S. The nature of the threats were not specified.

However, Joseph said he expected his son to return to his music career, including – he hopes – a reunion with his brothers.

"I'm trying to motivate them to go ahead and do this record," Joseph said of his other sons. "They want to do it, but they're too slow. They'd rather do it with Michael."
