The couple "is thrilled to announce the arrival of their son, Beckett O'Brien," a statement says. The baby boy was born Wednesday in New York City at 8:27 p.m., and weighed in at 8 lbs., 4 oz.
"Mother, baby and father are all well," according to the statement released by NBC.
This is the second child for the 42-year-old comedian and his wife, who turns 35 on Saturday. Their daughter Neve was born Oct. 14, 2003.
Earlier this year the funnyman told PEOPLE that since becoming a father, he's struggled with one age-old dad duty: putting together kiddie contraptions.
"Being a dad is the greatest, except for assembling things," said the talk show host. "I remember my father trying to tighten a bolt and hurting his fingers. That's what I'm doing now – except I break (the toy) before she even gets to play with it."
