A Charlotte, N.C., man wanted on a bigamy charge was arrested after a woman watching Monday's episode of the Dr. Phil show about the case saw two pictures of the man – and recognized her sister's boyfriend of the past eight months.

"I said 'Oh, dear God, that man is dating my sister.' I knew that that was him," Linda Hembree told the Associated Press on Tuesday. The show featured two women who had discovered they were married to Charles Edward Hicks at the same time.

Hicks, 61, was arrested later Monday at the Charlotte home of Hembree's sister, said Julia Rush, a spokeswoman for the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.

Hicks had been indicted on a bigamy charge last week in Chesapeake, Va., Officer Christina Golden of the Chesapeake police said Tuesday. He was being held as a fugitive in Charlotte pending an extradition hearing. Bail was set at $25,000.

Hembree, 57, said Hicks and her 54-year-old sister, Barbara Grant (who has been widowed and divorced), met online and had discussed the possibility of getting married. "They had talked about it, and I told her to just kind of wait and just make sure because marriage is such a big step," said Hembree, adding that she and her sister are devastated by the revelation about Hicks.

"When he came to my home, he was just as nice as he could be, well-educated, well-mannered," Hembree said. "We sat and talked numerous times together. We thought a lot alike. And I respected him a lot, I really did. This is what is so very painful for me."
