TUESDAY, JAN. 31: Oscar hopefuls will have their fingers crossed that their names will be read with the 5:30 a.m. PT announcement of the Academy Award nominations. Expected to be on the list: Walk the Line's Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix, Brokeback Mountain's Heath Ledger and Hustle & Flow's Terrence Howard. The Oscars happen March 5.
THURSDAY, FEB. 2: The twelfth season of Survivor premieres with a new twist: Teams will be divided into four groups – young men, young women, older men, older women – and each week one castaway will be banished to their own island, hence the fitting name, Survivor: Panama, Exile Island (CBS, 8 p.m. ET).
FRIDAY, FEB. 3: Bernie Mac is turning 100 – well, at least his show is. The funnyman's FOX show celebrates its 100th episode (8 p.m. ET) with Mac's attempt to get his nephew Jordan (Jeremy Suarez) to expand his cultural horizons by getting to know a new Jewish neighbor – who introduces him to the joys of lavish bar mitzvahs.
